Technology and how it makes life easier for us has led us to become dependent to it. In my case, it would be tough to live life without a computer. This post would only be one of the things that would missing if I didn't have a PC of my own. I also know of a few people who can't live a day without their cellphone. Sure, technically they can, but the agony of not having their mobile is something they'd rather not bear.

Speaking of dependencies, CW has a list of upcoming mobile technologies that have the potential of changing the way you live. Here's a sample:

Disruption 13: Augmented reality

Imagine looking at something in the real world -- say a building -- through your mobile device, then putting a virtual overlay over it. Sounds like a game, but it potentially has some very real-world applications, according to Townsend.

Why it's important: Augmented reality can help us understand the unknown in real time. That will lead to greater safety, more flexibility and better health care.

What could hold it back: This still remains the subject of a lot of research before it becomes practical and affordable.
