An iPhone Business Solution. The First Of Many?

suitephone-1-l.jpg

One of the lessons you can learn from the Playstation 3 is that no matter how powerful your hardware is, you're still going to need good software to complement it. When it comes to cellphones, the lesson remains the same. As phones get stronger and smarter, they'll need better programs to bring out their full capabilities. And when you have a mobile as popular as the iPhone, it's only a matter of time before companies start treating it as a standard development platform.

NetSuite, a vendor of on-demand, integrated business management application suites that provide ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and e-commerce functionality for small and medium-sized businesses and divisions of large companies, today announced SuitePhone, a capability that allows NetSuite customers to run business operations using the Apple iPhone.

The new SuitePhone capability provides native support for Safari, the iPhone and Mac browser - allowing NetSuite's advanced, AJAX-based user interface technologies such as drop-down menus, drag-and drop portlets, and in-line editing, to be supported. In addition, the ERP, CRM and e-commerce functionality of NetSuite is now also available to Apple users, bringing them an on-demand, integrated business management application designed for the Apple platform.
