Android To Invade Europe

Android is coming to Europe. Developers of Google's mobile operating system were notified via email that Android Market will become available in Germany and Austria, among others. Here's what the said email contains:

“I’m writing to let you know that Android Market will become available to users in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, and Poland in the coming weeks. You can now target these countries for your application(s) via the publisher website at market.android.com/publish. As we add support for additional countries, we will send out subsequent notifications to you.”

So expect to see T-Mobile G1 units to go overseas. Aside from this being a serious push for both the provider and Google, it looks like the pricing scheme is going to change as well, at least for Germany. The country will be getting subsidized units, so a G1 over there is going to cost a Euro, at the cost of subscribing to a two-year plan.
