Apple Announces 3G iPhone, Rogers To Be Exclusive Carrier

Apple has recently announced that the long-rumored 3G iPhone is finally coming true. Here's the comparison:

3G Advantage Showing a EDGE vs 3G comparison loading a webpage, 3G took 21 seconds. EDGE...waiting...waiting...uhh...59 seconds! Same phone, same location. 2.8X faster - and they claim loads webpages faster than Nokia N95 (33 seconds) or Treo 750 (34 seconds).

Full details are here. You know what's even better? Unlike the original iPhone, we won't have to wait an eternity for the 3G version to become available locally. Rogers is bringing it to us, which is certainly good news. Heck, I'm already thinking about the data plans.

in Canada the new iPhone will be running on Rogers' High Speed Paket Access (HSPA) wireless network, which will be available in "urban centres" across the country from Vancouver to Halifax, covering more than 60 percent of the population.
