Ballmer On Android

Let the mudslinging begin. Steve Ballmer recently commented on Android and said that the fledgling operating system is "way behind". And that's not the only thing he doesn't understand about it either. Read on.

He questioned Google's ability to make money with Android. "I don't really understand their strategy. Maybe somebody else does. If I went to my shareholder meeting, my analyst meeting and said, hey, we've just launched a new product that has no revenue model!"

Previous criticisms about Android revolved around differing user experiences and carrier-enforced rules. Ballmer's message is, for better or for worse, typically Microsoft: it's all about the money. If he doesn't understand how Android can generate revenue, there's a good chance other potential investors are thinking the same way.

Or, like I said, it could be simple mudslinging.
