Bell Nearly Recalls BlackBerry 8230

BlackBerry 8230.jpg

If you own a BlackBerry 8230, listen up. Bell has issued a recall for that model for some unknown reason. Here's what the source says:

We don’t have all the details here, but we’ve confirmed that Bell has issued a recall on the freshly launched BlackBerry 8230. Both colors are affected, and while we’re not positive if every single handset is being recalled, we’ve been told it has something to do with how the handsets were flashed.

An update on the site indicates that you won't have to return the units themselves (whew!). Check the OS version first. If you've got 4.6.1.162, you get a text message to update it to 4.6.1.182. If you're already on that version, then you're all set. Crackberry.com has the details on how to update your OS, so that's a handy link to have in this situation, if your OS is out-of-date.
