Blizzard Announces Battle.Net Authenticator App

blizzardauthenticator.PNG

Blizzard has revealed that its electronic authenticator for World of WarCraft is going to get a mobile version. The Battle.net Mobile Authenticator is an application for cellphones that will work just like the device does except that, as the name implies, it's intended for Battle.net and not just World of WarCraft. The hardware and software versions are both meant to make your Blizzard accounts safer.

You can get the app here. You can't use both authenticators though, so if you already have hardware version, this isn't going to help further. Also, multi-boxers everywhere should note that you only need a single code to support all your accounts. It's nice to see that Blizzard didn't milk that potential cash cow for what it was worth. The software authenticator is a nice option for those of you who can't get the electronic one.

Further questions are addressed in the support page.
