Comic Book Reading On The iPhone

sphone1.jpg

As a smartphone, you expect the iPhone to be able to go beyond calls and text messaging. What do you think about turning it into a comic book reader? With ComicZeal, you can, which then begs the question: would you want to?

...the actual process of reading comics is pretty slick. Pinch to zoom, swipe to turn pages, and press once to bring up a navigation menu. That's it, and it works well, although the page-turn animation is a little unsettling the first time you see it -- new pages slide in from the right, but at the same time your finger-swipe moves the existing page around.

It sounds like the comic book reading part is pretty solid. Getting it on your iPhone is a different matter though. It's not a simple process where you run one app, load your comic book in its PC format and then have it converted to something the iPhone can read. The re-formatting takes at least three applications, so get ready to go through that in case you're considering this.

ComicZeal is available at $2 USD. Hit the source for more information.
