Directions To Businesses Optimized For Google Maps

bbscreen.png

Google announced that it made improvements on Google Maps for mobile that will make searching for certain establishments easier. Getting directions to businesses such as restaurants, shops, etc. is now going to be easier thanks to better end point recognition.

Google Maps for mobile now recognizes when your end or start point is a business and not an address. Try setting "starbucks" or "mcdonald's" as an end point when getting directions, and you'll quickly see what we mean.

Until this adjustment, the software did not recognize whether you were looking for a business or an address. Setting your search term as your end point now defaults to looking for a business, so you should be able to find the directions you need faster than before.

Google says that the change has already been implemented and no special tweaks need to be done, so why don't you head over to google.com/gmm and try it out?
