Family-Friendly Mobiles

Sometimes you find news in the most unlikely places. That's certainly the case today when I found myself reading an article about cellphones and family relations. After all, the primary function of these things is communication. Who better to keep in touch with than your family, right? If you're in the market for QWERTY phones that have ease-of-use in mind, then a recent study Good Housekeeping Research Institute will interest you. Eleven mobiles within the $300 dollar range were compared and rated. Due to its popularity, the iPhone was also included even though it passed the budget mark. The verdict?

The BlackBerry Curve from T-Mobile ($250) had the fastest send and receive times in Good Housekeeping's tests. It also had excellent battery life, and the readability of the screen in light and dark settings was also quite good. The Moto Q 9h Global ($200) came in second overall, and beat Apple's iPhone for ease of texting. Moto Q's large, easy-to-read screen got raves, and the phone also earned top marks on voice quality during calls.
