General Mobile To Reveal Android Phone

3d1.jpg

Cellphone maker General Mobile is planning to showcase its Android phone at the Mobile World Congress next month. It will be the first dual-SIM mobile for the Google platform, so it will have a place in history regardless of whether it ends up being the second or third brand with an actual unit.

The phone will be called the DSTL1. Current product specs are as follows:

* Dual-SIM cards with dual-Standby mode
* 624MHz Marvell PXA 310 processor
* Tri-band GSM/EDGE support (900/1800/1900MHz)
* 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, 260k colors
* 802.11b/g WiFi support
* Bluetooth
* 135g (4.75oz), 112 x 54 x 16mm (4.4 x 2.1 x .6 inches)
* 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash (made by Sharp)

The image above is only a rendering of the mobile, so don't expect it to be the final design just yet. The source says that Android requires five hardware buttons for Home, Back, Menu, Call Send and Call End. That info will be handy to know the next time we see Android prototypes. The device is projected to be available later this year. Hit the link below for the complete details.
