Go Rugged With The i-mate 810-F Smartphone

i-mate-810-f-hummer-rugged-smartphone.jpg

Electronic devices are usually fragile things. They're vulnerable to fluids, heat, dust and other everyday hazards. Make them portable and the damage potential is increased significantly. For example, how often have you dropped your phone? Mine was scratched recently when I accidentally threw it in the air. I was tossing a blanket aside and my phone happened to be tucked between the sheets. A careless toss later and my phone was airborne. Fortunately, it hit the side of the bed before landing on the floor.

The i-mate 810-F is a smartphone built to take that kind of punishment and then some. It's on par with US military standards and is able to withstand heat, water, humidity and shock. It also laughs in the face of hot and cold weather. Underneath the tough exterior is a device powered by Windows Mobile 6.1. Check out the rest of the specs:

No word on pricing yet. We'll keep our eyes open for that and a review.
