Google Adds Street View To Maps

If you ask me if there's one thing I noticed about the Official Google Mobile Blog, then my answer would be is that it has this habit of posting news and updates in big servings. Pardon the food analogy, but I'm referring to how its bloggers lay low for a week or two and then come back with news about improved features and the like. It's like hearing the "but wait, there's more!" part of infomercials---just when you thought it was enough to get better accuracy with My Location, you hear that there are updates regarding Street View as well.

Today we're launching a new version of Google Maps for mobile with the same street-level imagery available on desktop. Wondering if the restaurant in your search results is the one you're thinking of? Just click "Street View" after your search to see the storefront. Unsure about a complicated intersection in your directions? Use Street View to see a photo, so there's no mistaking your turn.

With all the emphasis on maps and locations, I think we're going to reach a point where getting lost becomes a thing of the past. If you feel stupid whenever you lose your way, just imagine how you'd feel if you've got all this technology backing you up and you still manage to do so.
