Google Announces Entry Into The Mobile Arena

Amidst speculation regarding the arrival of the iPhone in Canada, there is another device that became the subject of rumors. I'm talking about the Google phone. After months of news and hearsay, we've finally come to the conclusion. Here are the details:

Google will provide an open software platform in which many manufacturers can participate, including HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung.

Google acquired a company called Android Inc. about three years ago, and used their platform for the phone. They are also relying on the 34 member strong Open Handset Alliance to develop the phone.
