Google Announces Winners Of The Android Challenge

Google has announced the top 50 winners of the Android developers contest.

The Android team has announced the selection of the top 50 applications of the Android Developer Challenge. Each of the top 50 apps will receive $25,000 and is eligible to receive further recognition via ten $275,000 awards and ten $100,000 awards in the final judging round. A total of 1,788 total submissions were received.

You can hit the source link below for a list of the winners. Only 46 are listed because the missing 4 decided that they want to keep their projects under wraps for now. The winners are written in alphabetical order by app name, so there's no telling what rank they were in when they won.

We're not shown details as to what they do, but the application names are hints themselves, giving us an idea what they're for. Multiple Facets Instant Messenger and SocialMonster, for example, sound like they're built for the friendly and popular crowd. I could be completely wrong on that, so I'll leave it to you to take a look at the list and see for yourself.
