Google Maps For Mobile Updated With Transit Information

Google has updated Google Maps for mobile to version 2.2. The update targets those who take public transportation. Bus and train routes are clearly displayed, making travel easier for those who don't want to drive around town.

This version (2.2) allows you to get transit directions in all the same places as the web version of Google Maps, including Chicago, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Vancouver, and over 40 other cities in North America.

Too bad it doesn't cover Canada yet, but who knows? Maybe we'll get a local version sometime in the future. For now, check out the source for full details. The demonstration is in the video above.
