Google Optimizes Search Results For iPhone and Android

screenshot-v8a.png

Google has announced that optimized search results are now available for Android and iPhone users. This means that regardless of which mobile you're using, the list of results about your query should be sized correctly. It may not seem much, but mobile users know that looking at your search without having to move or resize the screen is a hassle that they'd rather not deal with.

Whether you're using Google search through the search widget on the Android home screen, the built-in search box of the iPhone's Safari browser, or google.com on either device, you'll now end up with search results optimized for your phone. In some situations, you've already been seeing the new search results pages.

Aside from the new screens, Google has also added touchscreen-friendly buttons and expandable maps. There's no word on whether other phones will be getting this feature, namely Windows Mobile and BlackBerry, but we'll keep our eyes open. You can hit the source for more information.
