iPhone 3.0 Operating System Presented

iphone.jpg

The iPhone 3.0 operating system making its way through the Web's headlines. What features, improvements and surprises does it have in store for us?

First, it will finally include cut and paste. This is something that's way overdue given how common it is for computers regardless of what OS is installed. No longer will users have to suffer the agony of re-typing information again. Speaking of typing, landscape input is also a new feature, along with universal search, voice memo, picture messaging, etc.

Developers be able to add subscription services, integrate the iPhone's mapping software with their apps and gain access to better Bluetooth communication. The iPhone can also act as a remote control for other devices. Among the things that are not included in the new operating system is Flash support.

Apple will release the iPhone 3.0 OS this summer. The upgrade is free for existing iPhone users and is also available for the iPod Touch at $9.99 USD.
