iPhone 3G Unlock Now Available

Thumbnail image for iphone.jpg

Back in the day when no carrier supported the iPhone in Canada, the only way to get one was to purchase a unit then unlock it. The arrival of the iPhone 3G ended that problem, but that doesn't mean the practice of unlocking was going to go away. Apple's mobile is still unavailable in some regions, so as long as that continues, unlocking will continue to occur. For those of you who have been waiting for "freedom" for the iPhone 3G, you can get it today.

The iPhone 3G unlock is now available. The unlocking software is called yellowsn0w, runs as an invisible application, and it's very easy to install.

Yellowsn0w, the iPhone 3G unlock, runs as a small command line application that gets installed in any jailbroken iPhone 3G using Installer.

Head over to the source for the complete instructions. As always, the usual disclaimers apply. The article covers user experiences, so you'll get an idea of people's success rates with the unlocking process.
