Watching field reporters do their work on TV can be a disconnected experience. As a viewer, you're simply an observer, away from the action and the possible dangers of the outside. Field reporters are often near where the events are taking place, literally throwing themselves in harm's way for the sake of a good story.

Now, I do not think of myself as a reporter. I'm not even attempting to draw parallels. I'm simply referring to that profession because this is one of those times when the work came close to home. What you see above is something I got in my email today. The text came with it and I made a few edits (such as capitalization and spacing). When the things you write about come to you, it feels a little creepy.
