iPhone Kill Switch Circumvented

barkerbossprefs.jpg

If you knew that you had a bomb in your hands, you wouldn't just stand there and wait for it to go boom, would you? In this case, the accident waiting to happen is the iPhone. We know the kill switch exists. The question is, what are we going to do about it? For us common folk, nothing, but for those who know their way around the device, finding a way to turn it off is very important.

The kill switch that lets Apple remotely remove applications on your iPhone can be disabled with the push of a button. All you need is a jailbroken phone and the updated BossPrefs app found on Cydia. Simply choose "Disable Apple App Killswitch" in BossPrefs and Bob Barker that puppy into oblivion.

The source notes that it's not the only way to get rid of the switch, but it's certainly the most convenient. Head over there for more information.
