Kogan To Redesign Android Phone

logo_android.gif

We reported that Kogan was supposed to come up with the second Android phone, but we later learned that it wasn't. It has finally chosen to speak up and set the record straight. The good news is that those of you who were hoping a second Android phone is going to have something to look forward to again.

Fortunately, Kogan appears to have renewed his pledge to bring the Agora to market, promising a redesign that will bring the phone in line with Google requirements for screen resolution and application compatibility. No word on whether he plans on retaining the original design, but we’re hoping he’s going to stick to his planned $200 price point for an unlocked specimen.

It turns out the redesign is needed because Google had problems with the first one. The screen resolution wasn't going to work well with what Android needed, among other things. Hopefully the new proposal will be better. With only one device out there, Android needs to pick up some speed.
