LG: Apple Stole Our Idea

You've probably heard of the feud between the LG Prada Phone and the iPhone by now. I even mentioned a few details why they're compared so often.

LG has accused Apple of copying their design. I took no notice of it at first because there wasn't any basis for it in the reports that I read. Until now.

Woo-Young Kwak, head of LG Mobile Research and Developement at LG, is making a bold move and one that, in my opinion needed to be made, by making this statement at 3GSM.
"We consider that Apple copycat the Prada phone after the design was unveiled when it was presented in the iF Design Award and won the prize in September 2006. We take that to mean 'Apple stole our idea."

Let me repeat that. LG is saying "Apple stole our idea."

I'm going to deviate from the usual "in other news..." today because I honestly don't think I can post any other reports that are more interesting than this. Of course, we'll keep you updated on what happens next. While this is only one of the times that LG said something about Apple's supposed theft, this marks the first instance where a specific date was mentioned.
