Making Maps Work For You

my_maps.png

You've probably had your fill of Google Maps by now. The devs have been releasing feature after feature to make it one of the most robust maps software around, mobile and otherwise. Google's latest update for Maps is going to require more user intervention than usual because the doors are now open for customizable maps. That's right, folks. If you think that the directions need a little help in making themselves more obvious to you, the freedom to do so is now available.

Just in time for the holidays I'm proud to present to you My Maps Editor by Google, now available for download in Android Market! With this application you can create, edit, share, and view personalized maps on your Android powered phone synchronized with the My Maps tab on Google Maps. Create a map on your desktop computer using Google Maps and then take it with you on the go and update it on location.

You can place markers, lines and other scribbles using the map editing software so you can design directions to your liking. Your creations are synchronized with your My Maps online, making them easily accessible. This is only available for the T-Mobile G1, though I expect other phones to be supported later on. For the full details, head to the source.
