Microsoft On Windows Mobile 6.5

marketplace_home.jpg

Microsoft has announced that it's spicing things up for Windows Mobile 6.5. The first update is aesthetic. Microsoft has teamed up with Design Museum London and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to come up with jazzier themes for devices running the upcoming mobile OS. We're talking about colors, wallpaper, screensavers, icons, etc., so expect the GUI to look really pretty when it launches. In case you don't like what you see, there's going to be a Theme Generator to play with. It will let you customize the interface to suit your preference.

Another part of the announcement reveals the involvement of over 25 companies that have given their full support for Windows Marketplace. This includes Facebook, Gameloft, MySpace, Namco and EA Mobile, among others. What's more, there's going to be a 24-hour return policy for apps, giving users a full day to decide if they want to keep an application or not. Regarding upgrades, Microsoft said that it is possible to go from 6.1 to 6.5, provided that the devices have 128mb of RAM and a 400MHz processor.
