More Hands-On With The Android

Enkin from Enkin on Vimeo.

If you're keeping a close eye on the Android, then you'll be interested to read about a hands-on experience with it. Google's entry into the mobile phone arena was previously speculated as an actual cellphone, so it came as a surprise when it announced that it was venturing into the market via software instead. Since then, it has set the hype machine on overdrive and anticipation for the Android remains strong. So, what can we expect from the platform?

As expected, there are many Google applications by default, 20 in total, according to Rubin. These include a YouTube program with which you can search and view all YouTube clips, a Gmail app and Google Maps.

The Android development contest is still ongoing, so we're still waiting for that to conclude. Expect the platform's arrival in mobile phones late this year.
