Nokia Announces N79

Nokia has officially announced a new handset model and it's scheduled for release in the UK. Depending on your opinion of the color scheme, that's not so much of a bad thing.

...it will feature a 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, geotagging and dual LED-flash.

Elsewhere on the multimedia front will be an FM Transmitter, with direct access to the Nokia Music Store, power for up to 24 hours of music playback plus 3.5mm headset connector and dedicated music keys for non-stop music enjoyment

Nokia Maps 2.0 is included and the device supports microSD cards. Availability is scheduled for next month. I know that the word "candybar" is often used to describe the shapes of handsets, but I think Nokia took it too literally. Who knows? Maybe we'll actually see some aquatic designs on a clamshell phone one of these days.
