Nokia Expands MOSH User Base

I received this message in my email today. Looks like Nokia's making moves with its MOSH network.

Happy New Year,

We invite you to start off the new year by linking your Forum Nokia account to MOSH. One of the benefits of Forum Nokia membership is your ability to take advantage of other Nokia services. MOSH by Nokia is a great example, and by registering below, you can link your Forum Nokia account to MOSH.

MOSH is a channel for developers and tech leaders to publish applications and other content for any mobile device with a global audience. MOSH users have downloaded more than 20 million items have been downloaded since the August beta launch.

This makes MOSH a powerful channel for distributing your original content, as well as an ideal place to find innovative and unique stuff for your device. MOSH works for games, applications, even documents, videos and images.

With the launch of Seek, MOSH users can now request content — making this an even more powerful tool to showcase all types of mobile content (from applications and games, to images and documents) directly to users who are looking for it.

We last heard about MOSH back in August, so it's been a while. Nokia's invitation is an indication that while it's still pushing for mobile user content-sharing, it isn't rushing things either. I wonder what the next step will be: extending the invitation to other users and websites or an all-out public announcement? Your guess is as good as mine.
