Patent Reveals Possible iPhone Apps

Thumbnail image for iphone.jpg

For all the things to love about the iPhone, there are also a couple of features that it's missing. One of them is video recording. It may be a staple among phones with cameras but not with the Apple mobile. That may change soon though, according to the recently uncovered details of a patent.

“The device supports a variety of applications, such as one or more of the following: a telephone application, a video conferencing application, an e-mail application, an instant messaging application, a blogging application, a photo management application, a digital camera application, a digital video camera application, a Web browsing application, a digital music player application, and/or a digital video player application.”

You'll notice that it mentions "a digital video camera application". It also lists "digital video player" later, implying that the two are different functions. The iPhone already has the playback covered, so only the video camera part remains. What's even more exciting is the video conferencing part. Can you imagine using the iPhone to video conference? That would be pretty neat. Of course, you have to wonder how the application will fit all the participants in the screen. We'll just have to wait and see if all this will become reality in the future.
