Review: BlackBerry Storm

blacberrystorm-081120.png

The BlackBerry Storm is finally out. Is it good? Is it bad? Does it live up to the hype? Apple Insider was nice enough to give us a compilation of reviews, so we don't have to go too far to find what we need to know. Here are a few words from the one by Gizmodo:

"The Storm is a strong effort from RIM, but it's not quite the killer phone that they or Verizon need it to be. It's good—RIM clearly put a lot of thought into the design. But I think it fall short of what they were aiming for, and ultimately what all the hype is driving people to expect. Some of this is fixable: The damn thing needs to crash less often. But SurePress is not the end-all, be-all of touchscreen technologies—it's not really an evolutionary step forward, even."

Head over to the source for all the reviews you'll ever need, and then some. In total, the Storm shows a lot of promise, but fails at meeting the hype surrounding it. One thing's for sure: a threat to the iPhone it's not. Apple's sole mobile still reigns supreme. The Storm is good, but don't expect it to knock the iPhone off its perch.
