Rogers Expands 3G Services

rogers.jpg

Those of you who are keeping an eye on the Canadian mobile scene will be glad to know that Rogers is expanding its coverage in two counties. Moncton and Halifax will be receiving 3G wireless network and Rogers Vision services.

"This major expansion reinforces Rogers as Canada's fastest and most advanced wireless network from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast," said Rob Bruce, President, Rogers Wireless. "It also confirms Rogers as the first in the Western Hemisphere and one of the leading carriers in the world to take their customers to the next level with the blazingly fast speeds of cutting-edge 3.5 G technology."

It's probably purely coincidental, but rumors of the 3G iPhone have been circulating as well. Rogers is currently the only carrier capable of supporting the iPhone for Canada and this move strengthens it further. Is it an indication that we'll finally see Apple's mobile? I doubt it.
