Rogers Wireless Activated 130,000 iPhones in 4th Quarter 2008

iphone rogersIt's official, Canadians absolutely love the iPhone. According to the latest subscriber statistics just released from Rogers HQ, the 4th quarter of 2008 continued to demonstrate how lucrative the iPhone has been for Rogers both in terms of signing up new customers, as well as converting/upgrading existing customers to the iPhone 3G with a dual voice/data plan contract.

During the fourth quarter of 2008, Rogers Wireless activated approximately 130,000 iPhone 3G devices, approximately 40% of which were with new subscribers with the remainder being with existing Rogers Wireless subscribers who upgraded to the iPhone, committed to new term contracts and in the vast majority of cases subscribed to both voice and monthly data service plans.
