Rumors: iPhone Coming To Canada In Two Weeks

Holt-Renfrew-1.jpg

If you haven't succumbed to the temptation of getting your own iPhone and unlocking it, then consider your patience and self-control rewarded. Hopefully.

News from the grapevine tell us that luxury retailer Holt Renfrew is going to bring the iPhone to Canada in two weeks.

The Holt Renfrew source says the 8GB phone will be a GSM phone, retailing across the country for $799. Anyone familiar with the GSM market in Canada knows that Rogers is the leading GSM provider in the country.

So is this the final rumor before we hear the official word? Stay tuned.

Update: Close, but not quite. Unfortunately, this rumor is just that.

We have received word from Mario Manza, Executive Director of VIP Services at Holt Renfrew, that they will not be carrying the iPhone for now. He said he confirmed this information with the buyers this morning and apologized for any misinformation on behalf of the company.

I'm already beginning to think that by the time the iPhone arrives, it will be on version 2.0.
