Security Flaw Found In The T-Mobile G1

42-16886041.jpg

A security flaw was found in the T-Mobile G1 recently. Looks like whatever grace period that the Android phone was receiving is now gone. Here's what vulnerable:

Mr. Miller, a former National Security Agency computer security specialist, said the flaw could be exploited by an attacker who might trick a G1 user into visiting a booby-trapped Web site.

It's not the password-bypassing, account information-stealing kind of security flaw that one would normally associate with these kind of reports, but take note that cellphone vulnerabilities aren't part of the norm yet. In fact, the only time I can remember where they became a concern was during the early days of the iPhone. It was so popular that system administrators were worried about its security on corporate networks. No breaches were ever reported, so that concern died down eventually.

With that aside, is this flaw as serious as it sounds? It could be, but we'll have to wait and see.
