Serious Business: iPhone VS Blackberry

iphone_blackberry_image.jpg

It's a clash of the titans as the iPhone and the Blackberry 8820 face off in this comparison by TechCrunch.

With the Wi-Fi-equipped BlackBerry 8820 coming soon to an AT&T store near you, business folks around the country will be faced with the decision of switching to the trendy new iPhone or upgrading to a more iPhonesque version of their trusty CrackBerry. To determine whether the grass really is greener on the iPhone side of the fence, we have chronicled the experience of a venture capitalist (who wishes to remain anonymous) who has been using an iPhone and a BlackBerry 8800 side-by-side for the past few weeks. His conclusion: despite the overall attractiveness of the iPhone, it lacks too many vital features to replace the BlackBerry as the corporate weapon of choice.

As the article points out, the Blackberry trumps the iPhone in even the most basic of features, such as cutting and pasting and phone quality. To balance things out, note that the key word here is "corporate", meaning that the comparison was used with business in mind. The iPhone was never marketed as a primary corporate device, so it's naturally going to be at a disadvantage. The information is still handy though. If you haven't succumbed to the temptations of the iPhone yet, then it's always good to have options. Read the article to find out why the Blackberry is better when work needs to be done.
