Skype To Offer Unlimited International Calls

Skype will unveil its first plan for unlimited calls to overseas phones this week. Although it's mainly used as a free voice communication tool by people with microphones attached to their computers, subscribers have the option to use the software to make local phone calls. Skype is now seeking to up the ante by making those calls cross international borders.

The plan will allow unlimited calls to be made to land-line phones spanning 34 countries. For $9.95 a month, Skype subscribers will be able to call most of Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Malaysia.
