Smartphones: Games Are Outdoing Business Apps

42-19728223.jpg

What makes a smartphone different from a cellphone? It's the assumption that they have more functions, that they are capable of more than doing calls and text messaging. That brings us to the next question: what are smartphone users doing with their devices? According to a survey from the NPD group, the answer is gaming.

According to the report, more smartphone owners are playing games than using business related applications on their device.

Among iPhone users specifically, the application with the greatest increase in use over the last three months was playing games.

So if you feel a little sheepish about playing with your smartphone in public, fret no more because you're not alone. I like the occasional round of Sudoku myself. I'm open to any suggestions you have regarding mobile games, by the way, so drop me a line if you have a title or two in mind.
