Telus & Its Terms Of Service

42-17769410.jpg

Read the fine print. It's a company's excuse to the irritated consumer. If you've ever resorted to using that statement to protect yourself more than once, you may want to think about refining your contract a bit. That's the position that some Telus customers are facing with the recent news that the carrier is "pushing customers off of an “unlimited” data plan - with force." What? Did I read that right?

Reports note that the carrier is discontinuing it’s $75 “no-cap” plan used with data cards and moving them to a $65 1GB package. This is a huge problem for users in rural parts of Canada where only dial-up internet service has been available. Telus is citing its Terms of Service as a reason to discontinue customers who are on the plan.

Again, read the fine print there, folks. The act involves pushing customers out of the plan, which means that those who were affected found themselves moved from one plan to another in what sounds like a forced transfer. If you're a Telus customer, now would be a good time to grab your copy of the TOS and find out what other surprises are in store.
