The Vertu Boucheron 150 Luxury Phone

vertu-boucheron-150-1.jpg

The Vertu Boucheron 150 is proof that not all luxury phones are created equal. Yes, that monstrosity is actually a cellphone. Whoever thought that bringing the mobile-equivalent of cubism to actual production units must have eccentric tastes indeed.

The phone was created to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Boucheron French jewelry house. It's quite a celebration, especially when you find out that it's made out of a single piece of gold. Handcrafting it to perfection (relatively speaking) took more than 2,000 hours. The unit will come in a wooden case. It's a luxury phone, after all.

Not surprisingly, the usual technical details are missing. I think I said it before, but with luxury phones, especially one made out of gold, specs aren't important. It's all about the bling. This one is expected to sell at $30,000 USD.
