Twitter & Rogers Offer Free Service For Subscribers

Thumbnail image for Twitter.png

Customers of Rogers Wireless will be happy to note that they can now send and receive updates from Twitter via SMS. Yes, you can now post your status using your phone and get updates from people that you stalk---I mean, follow. Just kidding, folks. Anyway, what's even better is that the service is free for customers who are on text messaging plans.

Rogers Wireless announced today that customers can now send and receive updates from popular messaging service Twitter by SMS text message over their mobile phones, via Short Code 21212. The feature comes at no additional cost for customers on text messaging plans.

Other Twitter features such as adding friends and following them are also included. Outgoing tweets are counted as text messages for subscribers. Those who aren't into plans will be charged 15 cents per update. If you're heavily into Twitter, this is a great deal. If you're not, then you might find yourself starting to get into it a bit more. After all, it's a free service. Who wouldn't want that?

WARNING !!!!!!! be carefuful when you talk to a customer service representative or retention department in Rogers. Most of them lie or do not give you all the information correctly. It happened with me when i took rogers internet. without telling me, agent put me in to contract. i spoke to the manager and requested him to play the call and i was told that no recording is available to play. Agent made a false note saying i accepted the contract. i tried to confirm the manager that i was not told about any contract and i did not accept anything like that but nothing worked. So please be careful from this lier agents of Rogers.
