VoIP On The iPhone

release.gif

Blognation just posted news about the first VoIP call made from an iPhone, thanks to an application from TruPhone.

TruPhone, the company that is slowly but surely bringing VoIP and affordable international calling to mobile phones all over the world has just added a very important feather to its cap with the alpha-alpha version of what is sure to be a major buzz-generating application.

Calls made using VoIP has been around for some time, but the idea of combining it with the iPhone is just heavenly. Before you get excited, note that TruPhone still has quite a few hurdles to pass before it rolls out the software because getting VoIP to work in the iPhone takes a bit of techno-magic, so don't hold your breath (for now, at least). Expect a limited beta release in four weeks.
