Watchmen Online RPG Coming To The iPhone

The upcoming film Watchmen is going to get its own video game tie-in. While that's certainly predictable, its platform of choice is not. Watchmen: Justice is coming is an online RPG for the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

Explore the incredible Watchmen universe in the year 1975, where crime is rampant and average citizens take matters into their own hands. Create your own unique character and begin adventuring through the dark and gritty streets of New York City while following an original Watchmen inspired storyline through a real-time 3D world.

Aside from the game itself, the other interesting about this is the use of the iPhone and iPod Touch as online RPG platforms. The source doesn't say anything about it being massively multiplayer, so it's not marketed as an MMO. Will this title mark the beginning of the iPhone and iPod Touch as online gaming platforms? We'll see. I actually want to read a review of this title to see how it all turns out.
